The Men Who Stare at Goats Viewer Reviews
The Men Who Stare at Goats

Theres no doubt whatsoever that  The Men Who Stare At Goats is an absurdly funny movie that ridicules the armys experiments with psychic warfare. With its uniquely quirky brand of humor it gets some quick laughs with staring down goats, training warrior monks, building a New Earth army, and developing the dark touch of death that definitely kills but can take as long as 18 years to be effective.

Unfortunately, this sort of wacky humor gets old very fast, and the movie tends to get a little boring in the last quarter of the film. The flashbacks and the flash forwards make the story somewhat disjointed and disrupt the flow of humor. But George Clooney gives an outstanding performance as do the other cast members. What you have is a movie that doesnt quite reach its goal, but is still worth a good look, or stare.

Paranormal Activity

This movie was awesome. It was slow throughout but the end is worth it. I fell asleep watching the Blair Witch, which many have said it is similar to, but I definitely recommend everyone to go out see Paranormal in theatres.

The movie overall is great and has a lot of great paranormal "creepyness". This movie is pretty much this year's, The Blair Witch Project. There are very few technical errors such as continuity, and visible mistakes. This movie was great and it will be one people across the nation/world will remember.

There was a little motion sickness but was overall and good movie. It started out a little to slow but ended with a vengeance. It was not scary but a good jumpy suspense and makes you think this really could happen.

The Invention of Lying Viewer Reviews
The Invention of Lying

The Invention of Lying is a somewhat clever comedy that begins as an amusing and entertaining movie, but it can't maintain its opening pace and quickly becomes boring and drab. It's hard to relate to a storyline where everyone lives in a world of truth and, therefore, says unhesitatingly what's exactly on their mind. Where's the suspense and comedy when you know what everyone is thinking?  The humor is a little too sporadic, and the characters are too lifeless and robotic to warm up to. The celebrity cameos don't do much to prop up the movie, either. It's better to spend your money somewhere else.

Whip It

I like WHIP IT because it reminds me of many parents. I will not say much, but if you are always unhappy with your parents or bosses because they think they know what's best for you, then this is the movie to see.

A very interesting movie, by director Drew Barrymore. This movie a lot of fun to enjoy and watch. If you ever wanted to learn about roller derby, this is the movie for you.

I thought that "Whip It" was a nice, uplifting movie with an inspirational flavor. It is a genuine coming-of-age film that's filled with Girl Power. Ellen Page portrays the 17 year old waitress Bliss, who joins the roller derby team and takes the name "Babe Ruthless". The film depicts the family struggles and winding curves that she encounters on her rocky road to maturity. The acting is superb, and the story is engrossing. I only wished that they had shown more skating scenes to reveal the internal dynamics of how the sport is played. This is a good, entertaining movie that is warm and genuine.

Zombieland Viewer Reviews
Zombieland

I am not a hard-core fan of bloody and gory zombie movies. But I thoroughly enjoyed this film because it's a great blend of horror and comedy that makes for a really fun time. Include a disturbing group of misfits, headed by Woody Harrelson, and you have a film worth seeing a second time. The cast of characters performs great together given a well-written, tight script that delivers the punch line at just the right moment. Even the eye-catching cinematography adds to the overall enjoyment. You can't beat this film for an artful balance of gory horror and tongue-in-cheek humor. Go see it!

Surrogates Viewer Reviews
Surrogates

What makes the film Surrogates so interesting is that it deals with a   realistic and engrossing part of the science fiction field. Some day in the future we will likely have surrogates, and this movie gives us a taste of what it will be like. The owners of these humanoid reproductions that are made to give us a perfect shape and image can lie on a couch at home and vicariously experience and control their surrogate's actions. This shields the owners from the harsh realities of everyday life and presents them with a new source of addiction.

Just when you think that nothing can go wrong, a new anti-surrogate movement arises and a conspiracy develops. Then Bruce Willis, as FBI agent Greer, arrives to save the day. But he has to make some ethical decisions that will give us a lot to think about as we await the future. An entertaining and thought-provoking movie.

The Informant

I did not like this movie. Thought it was confusing and a little hard to keep up with. Was not always sure if Matt Damon's character, Mark Whitacre was really a whistle blower, or if he made up the whole thing.

A very interesting movie for anyone to see.  Matt Damon does an excellent job even though he had to gain 30 pounds for the role.

I give this movie a low rating because the plot could have been stronger as well as the acting. Although I give this movie a low rating, I do like most Tyler Perry movies.

What an great movie! Gerard Butler and Michael C. Hall were both awesome. I love these guys. A lot of action, special effects and great story line. I'm not into video games (my son dragged me along) but I loved the movie.  Definitely not a movie for young kids - a lot of nudity and violence. I highly recommend this movie.

All About Steve Viewer Reviews
All About Steve

This romantic comedy was NOT one of Sandra Bullock's best movies. It wasn't all that funny; it didn't have a plausible storyline; it rambled along without any compelling direction; and the plot was just too silly and immature. It's the kind of movie that you would like to walk out of, but you can't, because you don't want anybody to know that you were so stupid to pay so much money to see it in the first place!

With all that being said, let me state that I liked this movie because it was silly, corny, stupid, cutesy, oddball, and a bit amusing. Sandra Bullock does a wonderful job playing a nerdy, eccentric, and neurotic crossword puzzle creator. Too bad her professional acting skills were wasted on such a trivial role and a substandard script. P.S. I really liked her new hairstyle and make-up!
